Day Shift

This individual is responsible for general vehicle maintenance and repair of Wenger Feeds’ owned vehicles.

Essential Job Functions
General commercial motor vehicle, commercial tank trailer, and small vehicle repair and maintenance.
Handle on-call duties as scheduled.
Other duties as determined by the Truck Service Technician Leader.

Qualifications Needed
Possess truck mechanic experience and ability to effectively diagnose and repair motor vehicles.
Possession of a valid class Class A CDL license is preferred, along with a good driving record.
Endorsements: 'N' Tank; Lift 'L' Air Brake Restriction.
Completion of refrigerant course desirable.
Possess PA Inspection License Class 7.
Ability to handle heavy objects: tires, springs, brake drums and tools to repair vehicles, up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work inside tank bins (confined area).
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 15'.
General welding skills and ability to work with hydraulics a plus.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, encouraging safety and efficiency.

This individual is responsible to load, transport and unload feed between the mill and the customer and ensure the care of company and customer property.

Essential Job Functions
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection - assuring the safety of the vehicle.

Load the correct feed from the appropriate bin, close bin and visually check the quality of feed and take sample of each order delivered - follow proper feed sampling procedures and wear required safety equipment.
Deliver feed to correct farm and bin number in a timely and efficient manner.
Report, clean up and properly dispose of feed spills.
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle and inform supervisor of vehicle problems.
Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.

At times, deliver loads of a Gross Weight of 95,000 lbs.

This individual is responsible for performing all phases necessary for daily feed production and the receiving of grain and ingredients. The Team Leader assigns specific daily duties. This operator will provide coverage on various shifts as needed at the mill or at local facilities until the vacancy is filled.

Essential Job Functions:
May be responsible for all or part of the following duties and responsibilities to be determined by the Team Leader:
Receive daily shipments of grain and other ingredients by rail and truck.
Control and monitor feed production through the computer center.
Effectively operate the pellet mill.
Perform the function of "hand-adds,” the manual addition of feed ingredients.
Clean mill facility when working conditions and time permit.
Perform general mechanical duties as determined by the Team Leader.
Monitor ingredient inventories.
Maintain bag inventories, stacked and orderly.
Other duties determined by the Team Leader.
Maintain usage reports and operational records as needed.
Navigate, use and understand Wenger System as appropriate.
Work as needed on any shift at the Rheems Mill or provide coverage on a temporary basis at any local facility in the event of a vacancy.

This individual is responsible for performing all phases necessary for daily feed production and in the absence of the Mill Supervisor, will delegate the work assignment of shift personnel. The Assistant Mill Supervisor will also coordinate assigned production activities closely with those directing Transportation and Purchasing as they relate to feed production and delivery.

Responsible for overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
Coordinate mill safety procedures and programs with Compliance Coordinator to minimize incidence of injury and reduce amount of recordable injuries.
Coordinate training of all mill employees, including the navigation and utilization of the Wenger System as appropriate.
Coordinate mill environmental training and compliance with Compliance Coordinator.
Perform general mechanical and other duties as determined by the Mill Supervisor.

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of accounting data while assisting with inventory management and other projects in the department.
Essential Job Functions
Assist Cost Accountant with assigned inventory-related accounting functions. (Adjustments, data entry, etc.)
Assist Staff Accountant with flock reporting tasks (pullet utilization report, pullet finals, flock bonuses, etc.).
Provide backup and assistance for other positions in the department as requested.
Prepare and post journal entries as required; review and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts each period.
Assist with preparation of reports for various divisions and companies.
Assist in collection and preparation of documentation requested for the annual outside audit.
Perform additional responsibilities within the department as requested.
Qualifications Needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Business (accounting concentration preferred); inventory management experience preferred.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Excel and JD Edwards or other business software.
Ability to work well with all departments and divisions in the company.

Cost Accountant

This individual is responsible for timely and accurate preparation of cost accounting and financial data; including data entry into various accounting applications.

Essential Job Functions
Inventory
Review weekly ingredient usage in manufacturing orders for required adjustments (WEM vs. JD Edwards).
Review and resolve issues with transfer orders between mills.
Review work order edit reports and correct as necessary.
Provide inventory support to mills and other departments as needed.
Compile information returned from physical inventory counts.  Review variance reports, investigate discrepancies, and provide to Controller for final review.
Other
Prepare and post period end utility accrual and other inventory adjustments, as needed.
Provide backup and assistance for other positions in the department as requested.
Assist in collection and preparation of documentation requested for the annual outside audit.
Coordinate with the Accounting Assistant to ensure assigned inventory related accounting functions are completed.
Perform additional responsibilities within the department as requested.

Qualifications Needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Business (accounting concentration preferred) and a minimum of 4 years working with inventory transactions.
Strong computer skills and experience with Excel and JD Edwards or other business software.

Account Leader - Ingredients

This sales position is responsible for developing and maintaining customer accounts in feed ingredient market segments. Account Leaders may also be called upon to facilitate customer relations and project development not directly involved with their sales development efforts.

Essential Job Functions:
Develop and carry out sales strategies to successfully obtain additional feed ingredient business.
Provide basic technical support for the sale of specific ingredients.
Help coordinate WFM services to best meet the prospect and customer needs.
Maintain an ongoing network of communication between customers, prospects, and related industry representatives as well as all appropriate WFM team members.
Act as an advocate for the customer within the Wenger Feeds organization.
Stay current with relevant industry developments and update sales staff accordingly.
Timely follow-up of customer accounts receivable as necessary.
Assist in performing general sales and marketing functions as determined by department manager.
Maintain timely records.

Qualifications Needed:
Sales and marketing skills from prospecting to closing sales as well as effective follow-up.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent skills: interpersonal skills and behaviors, verbal and written communication, group presentations, organizational skills and handling multiple tasks, computer capable with excel, word, power point and communication tools.
Ability to work with all levels of customers and their employees.
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Grain Buyer

Rheems, PA
The specialty grain buyer is primarily responsible for procuring (negotiating, buying) and contract management (PO/Supplier contract reconciliation, negotiating/correcting inaccuracies on receipts/invoices) for specialty grain products (organic and non-GMO) from local farmers and/or brokers.  This includes assurance that procurement is done to maximize returns while maintaining competitive pricing, managing transactions to follow company and customer risk management strategies, ensuring mill locations do not run out of product, and establishing long-term relationships with suppliers.  They will also be responsible for coordinating inventory and contract management of purchases by Perdue Agribusiness for BC Natural. 

Essential Job Functions:
Purchase organic and non-GMO grain with cost savings to prevailing market.
Know seasonal and geographical market characteristics for organic and non-GMO grains.
Anticipate supply-demand balance and shifts.
Predict and capture opportunities in future markets, while limiting risk exposure.
Understand transportation costs and trends.
Establish weekly market pricing.
Purchase ingredients according to product specifications.
Support conventional grain program as necessary.

Knowledge of supply-demand economics.

Ingredient Logistics Coordinator

The primary function of this position is to ensure ingredient availability for Feed Division and outside customers through logistical support while minimizing costs.

Essential Job Functions:
Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of grain and ingredient trucks and rail cars to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands.
Track shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment.
Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain best rates and service.
Create and monitor transportation provider service levels.
Receive and process transportation requirement requests from customers.
Troubleshoot and problem-solve logistics issues as needed.
Filing and administrative duties as required.
Coordinate ingredient logistical issues for all Wenger facilities 24/7 as needed.
