Truck Service Technician

Day Shift

Elizabethtown, PA

This individual is responsible for general vehicle maintenance and repair of Wenger Feeds’ owned vehicles.

Essential Job Functions
General commercial motor vehicle, commercial tank trailer, and small vehicle repair and maintenance.
Handle on-call duties as scheduled.
Other duties as determined by the Truck Service Technician Leader.

Qualifications Needed
Possess truck mechanic experience and ability to effectively diagnose and repair motor vehicles.
Possession of a valid class Class A CDL license is preferred, along with a good driving record.
Endorsements: 'N' Tank; Lift 'L' Air Brake Restriction.
Completion of refrigerant course desirable.
Possess PA Inspection License Class 7.
Ability to handle heavy objects: tires, springs, brake drums and tools to repair vehicles, up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work inside tank bins (confined area).
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 15'.
General welding skills and ability to work with hydraulics a plus.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, encouraging safety and efficiency.
Accurately and promptly completes all repair related paperwork, to include those related to proper inventory and parts usage.
Perform all duties in a professional and safe manner, compliant with all governmental, Wenger Feeds, and Wenger Feeds Garage policies & procedures.

Feed Driver

Night Shift

Rheems, PA

This individual is responsible to load, transport and unload feed between the mill and the customer and ensure the care of company and customer property.

Essential Job Functions:
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection - assuring the safety of the vehicle.
Drive in a safe manner.
Load the correct feed from the appropriate bin, close bin and visually check the quality of feed and take sample of each order delivered - follow proper feed sampling procedures and wear required safety equipment.
Deliver feed to correct farm and bin number in a timely and efficient manner.
Report, clean up and properly dispose of feed spills.
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle and inform supervisor of vehicle problems.
Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
Maintain proper company image on highway and on farm (e.g., proper equipment maintenance and attire).
Report any problems observed in dealing with customers.
At times, deliver loads of a Gross Weight of 95,000 lbs.
Perform all duties to assure high quality CSA scores are maintained.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Needed:
Valid (Class A) CDL and good driving record
Endorsements “N” Tank; Air Brakes
Ability to handle flexible hours at times
Successful completion of DOT Physical and Drug screen
Ability to work in dusty environment
Ability to handle “on the road” situations that develop from time to time (snow - ice-accidents)
Ability to work at 15’ heights consistently
Ability to climb ladders consistently
Ability to lift up to 66 pounds on occasion
Basic math skills

Assistant Transportation Supervisor

Night Shift

Spring Glen, PA

This individual will supervise FT/PT nightshift drivers under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, in order to achieve the most efficient and effective deliveries in a safe manner.

Essential Job Functions:
Work with the Rheems, Mount Joy, Hempfield, and Massey nightshift Supervisor on daily operational issues.
Oversee the assigned group of drivers.
Adhere to, manage, reinforce and enforce safety and quality policies and procedures to minimize incidents of injury, reduce amount of recordable injuries, and improve overall quality of operations.
Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
Assist in training of new team members.
Work on projects with Transportation Supervisor.
Meet needs of equipment and drivers on a daily and/or weekly schedule in coordination with the
Transportation Supervisor/Dispatch/WFM shop.
Prepare requested reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Other specific assigned tasks:
Ride along with new team members when completing 30 and 60 day reviews, as well as riding with seasoned drivers throughout the year and documenting each ride along.
Coordinate loadout sweeping.
WFM Spring Glen fuel island inspections.
Show quarterly driver videos to all dayshift and nightshift drivers at Spring Glen, Shippensburg, and Muncy.

Qualifications Needed:
Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid (Class A) CDL license with tanker endorsement and airbrake.
Ability to multitask and provide accurate results.
Ability to work at heights of up to 15 feet.
Ability to help with light mechanical repairs as needed.
Ability to lift 80 pounds on occasion while attaching a cyclone on a tri-axle.
Good computer skills, including MS Word and Excel

Dispatcher

Part Time - Friday: 3pm – 11pm; Saturday: 7am – 3pm; Sunday: 7am – 2pm

Rheems, PA

This person is responsible for seeing that all orders are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.  This individual is at the center of communication for the mills, drivers and customers.  Dispatchers will work closely with all daily events as well as monitor future tonnage and make adjustments as needed.           

Essential Job Functions:
Dispatch feed drivers and make sure all loads are being delivered
Communicate with mill operators, mill supervisors, drivers, customers, transportation supervisors, and dispatch supervision
Handle phone calls with customers, drivers, and mills
Contact customers with changing delivery information, or farm information
Transfer feed between Mills
Manage driver hours through Xata, update trips in Check Point
Follow all flushing procedures for loading, unloading, and transferring feed
Maintain load out logs for all feed that is loaded
Keep records on all loads that are hauled
Communicate with drivers as to which loads should be loaded
Work with and set up loads for Contract Haulers
Work closely with the garage on truck maintenance schedule
Schedule part-time Drivers and Contract Haulers as needed
Operational problem solving with manufacturing, transportation, and purchasing

Qualifications Needed:
Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; and general navigation
Ability to operate fax machine and telephone system
Ability to plan ahead 6-10 hours or more in advance
Ability to work under stressful situations at times
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Logistics Supervisor

Rheems, PA

Logistics Supervisor manages all aspects of WFM Transport’s 24/7 dispatch operation to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of bulk animal feed, agricultural commodities, and related products. Incumbent is responsible for meeting all dispatch operational and cost goals.  Core responsibilities of this position involve the daily operation of the WFM Transport routing and scheduling functions to assure efficient and effective operational processes and productivity of routes.  This individual works with the Transportation Supervisor to determine optimal driver deployments and the Garage Supervisor to ensure fleet equipment availability.

Essential Job Functions:
Provide effective supervision and support of 24/7 dispatch operation.
Optimize supply chain efficiency & effectiveness through customer-mill assignments.
Ensure process compliance and develop process improvements.
Coordinate truck repairs and maintenance with Garage Supervisor to ensure proper fleet maintenance and for optimal efficiency.
Coordinate with Transportation Supervisor to assure optimal driver staffing levels.
Evaluate operational requirements to determine optimal driver deployments.
Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate direct reports.
Work on projects with Transportation Manager.
Administer driver pay-for-performance (PFP) compensation program.
Process contract carrier invoices and evaluate for cost effectiveness.
Properly maintain truck permits.

Qualifications Needed:
Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Management, or related field
Experience supervising a 24/7 dispatch operation
Minimum 2 years experience with route planning and optimization software
Strong communication and team building skills
Knowledge of DOT, FDA, and USDA rules that apply to hauling agricultural commodities
Advanced computer skills, including MS Office software
Ability to appropriately manage a stressful work environment
Strong math skills

Second Shift

This individual works under the direction of the Mill Maintenance Supervisor in the area of Mill Maintenance, and works with the Plant supervisor at each locations  

Essential Job Functions:
Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on all mill equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.
Anticipate and plan for projected maintenance needs and prioritize tasks.
Maintain accurate records of inventories and completed maintenance.
Communicate effectively among all personnel.
Work effectively as a team member, assisting as needed.
Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
Function in an “on call” capacity.
Perform general clean up as needed and keep tools organized.
Travel to outside mills when needed for preventive maintenance.
Understand, utilize and navigate the Wenger System.

This individual will be responsible to verify and process the Manufacturing invoices, prepare and ship various samples, conduct sample testing, and support the Manufacturing Department.

Essential Job Functions:
Verify and process the Manufacturing Department invoices.
Collect, prepare and ship various feed and ingredient samples for laboratory testing.
Conduct pellet durability index (PDI) tests on retention samples from the mills. Maintain PDI database and submit routine reports.
Support the Manufacturing Department as needed. Some duties might include: Deliver to or pick up items from the mills or suppliers; general clerical support for Manufacturing Department.

Coordinate / schedule appointments & meetings

This individual will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and assisting with improvements in processes, policies and standards primarily in the Manufacturing area of the Feed Division, and will coordinate and facilitate project management for timely completion using industry specific and /or technological knowledge and tools.

Essential Job Functions:
Research and analyze basic and complex issues surrounding the processes and systems in Feed Manufacturing, and develop suggested improvements to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
Use appropriate tools to help eliminate redundancies, vulnerabilities and opportunities for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
Integrate workflow in various groups for effective implementation, using technological enhancements to facilitate the process, tracking, and completion of the same.
Coordinate and communicate changes with all impacted parties in a timely and complete manner.
Actively engage in process to assure projects and activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner, and acts as a facilitator for the same in coordination with other team members.

Qualifications Needed:
Undergraduate degree in related discipline and / or at least 3–5 years experience in process improvements & timely completion, workflow analysis and project management.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Excellent computer technology skills with advanced proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
Strong analytical skills and ability to convert theoretical applications to tangible solutions.
Valid PA driver’s license and ability to drive to outside mill locations.

Review & organize feed delivery tickets and check for accuracy.
File AP and AR documents as requested.

Accounts Receivable Administrator – Feed & Ingredient Divisions

Full-Time

Rheems, PA

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices related to the Feed and Ingredient Divisions, as well as other general accounting functions and support as required.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform A/R and Sales Order Processing functions for feed and ingredient customers.
Prepare periodic/automatic invoices for interest and other charges.
Enter sales orders related to weekly and monthly ingredient bookings.
Prepare and distribute weekly sales and A/R reports to customers and various departments.
Review price holds daily and make adjustments as necessary.
Coordinate and gather any A/R documentation requested for the year-end audit process.

Perform back-up duties as required for the AR Administrator – Poultry Division.
Assist in additional projects as needed.
Qualifications Needed:
Effective communication skills
Strong computer skills and experience with JD Edwards or other business software
Minimum of 4 years experience working with A/R transactions.
Math and accounting aptitude - high school level or higher preferred
High degree of accuracy in data entry and document preparation
High level of organizational skill and ability to plan and execute work efficiently
