Truck Service Technician

Day Shift

Elizabethtown, PA

This individual is responsible for general vehicle maintenance and repair of Wenger Feeds’ owned vehicles.

Essential Job Functions
General commercial motor vehicle, commercial tank trailer, and small vehicle repair and maintenance.
Handle on-call duties as scheduled.
Other duties as determined by the Truck Service Technician Leader.

Qualifications Needed
Possess truck mechanic experience and ability to effectively diagnose and repair motor vehicles.
Possession of a valid class Class A CDL license is preferred, along with a good driving record.
Endorsements: 'N' Tank; Lift 'L' Air Brake Restriction.
Completion of refrigerant course desirable.
Possess PA Inspection License Class 7.
Ability to handle heavy objects: tires, springs, brake drums and tools to repair vehicles, up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work inside tank bins (confined area).
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 15'.
General welding skills and ability to work with hydraulics a plus.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, encouraging safety and efficiency.
Accurately and promptly completes all repair related paperwork, to include those related to proper inventory and parts usage.

Feed Truck Driver

Night Shift - Part Time

Spring Glen, PA

This individual is responsible to load, transport and unload feed between the mill and the customer and ensure the care of company and customer property.

Essential Job Functions
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection - assuring the safety of the vehicle.
Drive in a safe manner.
Load the correct feed from the appropriate bin, close bin and visually check the quality of feed and take sample of each order delivered - follow proper feed sampling procedures and wear required safety equipment.
Deliver feed to correct farm and bin number in a timely and efficient manner.
Report, clean up and properly dispose of feed spills.
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle and inform supervisor of vehicle problems.
Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
Maintain proper company image on highway and on farm (e.g., proper equipment maintenance and attire).
Report any problems observed in dealing with customers.
At times, deliver loads of a Gross Weight of 95,000 lbs.
Perform all duties to assure high quality CSA scores are maintained.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

This individual is responsible for performing all phases necessary for daily feed production and the receiving of grain and ingredients. The Team Leader assigns specific daily duties. This operator will provide coverage on various shifts as needed at the mill or at local facilities until the vacancy is filled.

Essential Job Functions:
May be responsible for all or part of the following duties and responsibilities to be determined by the Team Leader:
Receive daily shipments of grain and other ingredients by rail and truck.
Control and monitor feed production through the computer center.
Effectively operate the pellet mill.
Perform the function of "hand-adds,” the manual addition of feed ingredients.
Clean mill facility when working conditions and time permit.
Perform general mechanical duties as determined by the Team Leader.
Monitor ingredient inventories.
Maintain bag inventories, stacked and orderly.

This individual is responsible for performing all phases necessary for daily feed production and in the absence of the Mill Supervisor, will delegate the work assignment of shift personnel. The specialty grain buyer is primarily responsible for procuring (negotiating, buying) and contract management (PO/Supplier contract reconciliation, negotiating/correcting inaccuracies on receipts/invoices) for specialty grain products (organic and non-GMO) from local farmers and/or brokers.  This includes assurance that procurement is done to maximize returns while maintaining competitive pricing, managing transactions to follow company and customer risk management strategies, ensuring mill locations do not run out of product, and establishing long-term relationships with suppliers.  They will also be responsible for coordinating inventory and contract management of purchases by Perdue Agribusiness for BC Natural.

Purchase organic and non-GMO grain with cost savings to prevailing market.
Know seasonal and geographical market characteristics for organic and non-GMO grains.
Anticipate supply-demand balance and shifts.
Predict and capture opportunities in future markets, while limiting risk exposure.

Ingredient Logistics Coordinator

Rheems, PA

The primary function of this position is to ensure ingredient availability for Feed Division and outside customers through logistical support while minimizing costs.

Essential Job Functions:
Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of grain and ingredient trucks and rail cars to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands.
Track shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment.
Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain best rates and service.

Receive and process transportation requirement requests from customers.
Troubleshoot and problem-solve logistics issues as needed.
Filing and administrative duties as required.

Egg Marketing Services Warehouse Worker

Part Time
Monday – Friday, approximately 12pm to 5pm

This individual will perform warehouse duties, load and unload trailers, perform light maintenance, operate flat washer and provide backup for the Warehouse and Transportation Supervisor.

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the sales order/invoicing function, as well as preparation and distribution of weekly and period reports.

Poultry Service Technician

Rheems, PA

The Poultry Service person functions as a consultant to poultry growing producers and egg producers.  This individual will monitor the flock records, provide poultry health services, and advise the producer regarding Wenger’s feeding program and general flock management. The Poultry Service person is responsible for motivating and achieving positive change in contract producers.

Essential Job Functions:
Perform Bird Health functions.
Review weekly records.  Monitor and respond to bird weight and uniformity, mortality, feed consumption, and blood sampling.
Work with Labs to get flock diseases diagnosed.
Make sure house is properly prepared for new chickens.
Monitor and respond to house cleanliness, ventilation, feeding and water system, and fly and rodent control problems including monitoring the SE plan/PEQAP program and any applicable animal welfare programs.
Identify problems or potential problems and work through possible solutions.
Diplomatically make recommendations on house maintenance and bird health to house management and/or ownership, and create an environment for positive change.
Follow the philosophy of Wenger’s feed program and Master Program in coordination with flock health.  Recommend and order various feeds and treatments.
Keep informed of recent developments in the poultry industry through literature and training sessions.
Perform all other duties necessary to complete the job.

Ability to schedule and prioritize duties, and work with minimal direct supervision
Basic computer skills.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders.
Certified for blood sampling for NY/NJ live bird markets (preferred).
