Transportation


Transportation Manager

Day

Rheems, PA

This individual will manage all aspects of the Transportation business units to maximize quality and efficiency in the feed delivery process while controlling costs. The Feed Transportation Manager will oversee operations for Feed Delivery, Dispatch and Garage by working closely with the supervisors for each of those areas.

Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate with Transportation area supervisors to ensure effective communication and maintain motivated workforce throughout the Feed Transportation Department.
Develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships on behalf of the Transportation Department to provide quality and efficient service to customers.
Assure the procurement and maintenance of all necessary feed delivery equipment and WFM vehicles, including small vehicles.
Coordinate with Transportation Supervisor to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of feed with appropriate staffing levels.
Coordinate with the Garage Supervisor to ensure WFM vehicles are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
Coordinate with Dispatch Supervisor to determine the most effective manufacturing locations and delivery assignments.
Analyze costs and financial statements pertaining to the Transportation Department.
Keep abreast of current transportation issues and maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, Wenger System and other legal requirements.
Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of EOBC’s (electronic on board communication systems) such as Xata.
Chair Feed Transportation Wenger System committee and prepare budgets and strategic plans as needed.

Qualifications Needed:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Management experience in the transportation industry, 3+ years preferred
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts and their impact on financial reporting
Advanced computer skills, including MS Excel and Word
Business-related degree preferred

Truck Service Technician

Night

Elizabethtown, PA

This individual is responsible for general vehicle maintenance and repair of company vehicles.

Essential Job Functions:
General vehicle repair and maintenance.
Handle on-call duties as scheduled.
Other duties as determined by the Garage Supervisor

Qualifications Needed:
Broad knowledge of truck and equipment.
Possess a valid class A CDL license and good driving record.
Endorsements: 'N' Tank; Lift 'L' Air Brake Restriction.
Completion of refrigerant course desirable.
PA Inspection License Class 7
Ability to handle heavy objects: tires, springs, brake drums and tools to repair vehicle up to 80 lbs).
Work inside tank bins (confined area).
Ability to work at heights of 14'
General welding skills and ability to work with hydraulics a plus.

Night Shift

This individual is responsible for the loading, transporting and unloading of feed between the mill and the customer and ensuring the care of company and customer property.

Essential Job Functions:
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection - assuring the safety of the vehicle.
Drive in a safe manner
Load the correct feed from the appropriate bin, close bin and visually check the quality of feed and take sample of each order delivered - follow proper feed sampling procedures and wear required safety equipment.
Deliver feed to correct farm and bin number in a timely and efficient manner.
Clean up after any feed spills and properly dispose of feed spills.
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle and informing supervisor of vehicle problems.
Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
Maintain proper company image on highway and on farm (i.e. In regards to equipment maintenance and proper attire).
Report any problems observed in dealing with customers.
At times, deliver loads of a Gross Weight of 95,000 lbs.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Needed:
Valid (Class A) CDL and good driving record
Endorsements “N” Tank; Air Brakes
Ability to handle flexible hours at times
Successful completion of DOT Physical and Drug screen
Ability to work in dusty environment
Ability to handle “on the road” situations that develop from time to time (snow - ice-accidents)
Ability to work at 15’ heights consistently
Ability to climb ladders consistently
Ability to lift up to 66 pounds on occasion
Basic math skills
Ability to handle permit size loads possibly grossing 95,000 lbs.

EMS Warehouse Worker

Day - Part-Time

Elizabethtown, PA

This individual will perform warehouse duties, load and unload trailers, perform light maintenance, operate flat washer and provide backup for the Warehouse and Transportation Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:
Work on dock with shipping and receiving of eggs, supplies, etc.
Complete paperwork required such as daily run sheet, farm tickets, invoices, etc.
Case, Flip, Stack eggs as needed
Distinguish different types of supplies
Organize warehouse
Follow all Wenger policies and meet Wenger’s image of quality
Perform all other duties as assigned by Warehouse and Transportation Supervisor
Provide backup when the Warehouse and Transportation Supervisor is absent.
Perform on call duties as needed.

Qualifications Needed:
Possess valid PA Drivers license, Class A CDL preferred
Excellent organizational ability
Ability to work varied hours
Ability to work in 50 degree cooler
Ability to perform heavy lifting (50# cases of eggs, skids)
Computer and math aptitude

Ingredient Receiver/Mill Operator

Night - 2nd Shift

Rheems, PA

This individual is responsible for receiving ingredients and monitoring inventories under the supervision and guidance of the mill supervisor. In addition, this person will also aid in production as needed under the direction of the current team leader.

Essential Job Functions:
Receive trucks and unloading rail cars.
Monitor ingredient inventories.
Maintain bag inventories stacked and orderly.
Conduct housekeeping in receiving area and warehouses.
Work directly with current supervisor in various duties as needed (hand-adds, clean-up, etc.)
Coordinate weekly bag runs for toll mills with Purchasing Department.
Navigate, use and understand Wenger System as appropriate.

Qualifications Needed:
Ability to work with independently.
Ability to work with numbers and computers.
Ability to operate various types of machinery, including heavy equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (100 lb. bags) and other manual labor.
Ability to perform general maintenance functions

This individual will perform all functions involved in the manufacturing of quality expelled soy. The Plant Supervisor assigns specific daily duties.

Essential Job Functions:

This individual is responsible for performing all duties necessary to maintain a clean, orderly, and presentable mill property. This individual may also perform mill operator duties as needed for daily feed production and the receiving of grain and ingredients on any shift as needed. The Team Leader assigns specific daily duties.

Essential Job Functions:
May be responsible for all or part of the following duties and responsibilities to be determined by the Team Leader:
Clean mill facility by approved method – sweeping, dusting, blowing, shoveling and mopping.
Perform light building maintenance functions.
Receive daily shipments of grain and other ingredients by rail and truck.
Control and monitor feed production through the computer center.
Effectively operate the pellet mill.
Perform the function of "hand-adds,” the manual addition of feed ingredients.
Perform general mechanical duties as determined by the Team Leader.
Monitor ingredient inventories.
Maintain bag inventories, stacked and orderly.
Other duties determined by the Team Leader.
Navigate, use and understand Wenger System as appropriate.

The Team Leader oversees the daily production of feed as well as scheduling and assigning mill personnel on scheduled shift.

Essential Job Functions:
Oversee the production of feed on assigned shift.
Effectively operate all areas of the mill.
Supervise, train and evaluate Mill Operators/ Receivers on assigned shift.
Assign duties felt necessary to ensure a clean and orderly facility.
Assume duties during absence of Mill Supervisor.
Perform other duties as determined by Mill Supervisor.
Effectively communicate with dispatch and coordinate with all mills as needed.
Manage and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize incidence of injury and reduce amount of recordable injuries.
Manage and enforce environmental policies.
Navigate, use and understand Wenger System as appropriate.

Qualifications Needed:
Knowledge of feed or related manufacturing techniques
Supervisory training with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Good oral and written communication skills
Basic math and computer skills

Ability to stand, lean, bend, stoop, lift and walk for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. on occasion and perform other manual labor
